On 6th February, 1915, the 2nd Worcestershire battalion of 5 Brigade, 2nd Division moved into the trenches at Festubert where they remained until relieved on 14th February. It was here on 11th February that Leonard Hardy was killed, probably by a sniper, while he himself was in the front line sniping at the enemy. Otherwise the battalion diary recorded it as being a day with very little activity by the enemy. |
